And the Spanish villa venue feels redundant, when I now have a plethora of Spanish themed build/buy items available through Showtime and Island Paradise. The surfing station, for example, feels random, because having Seasons and Island Paradise installed has injected an entire range of beach and water activities that are actually integrated into the game. But if I were to narrow it down, I'd get rid of premium content and all the build/buy/decor items where there's a suitable alternative provided by the EPs. There are some store items that I'd never be rid of (all the worlds, certain clothing sets, and maybe some food related premium content). I feel differently now that I've got the full EP/SP range. Picking and choosing from the Store enhanced what was otherwise a limited game. I didn't always have a decent computer for Simming, and only had a couple of EPs installed for the longest time. I think the main reason I ended up with heaps of Store content (not everything, by any means, but I have accumulated a fair bit over the years) is because of that ability to pick and choose.

But I did find it very interesting that I played about 10 sim weeks without missing the Store content and non-essential mods/CC.Ī sage approach! You know, you make a really good point.

Of course, after that save I went back to my main Documents folders (with All The Stuff) because I much prefer All The Stuff. I might have missed the toddler/child/teen stuff if my sim had any children, but he hated kids, so it worked out. Every now and then I'd look for something and realize it was from the store and it was like, "oh well." I do play with all expansions, and that was plenty for that save. I never got around to adding store content, and I was really surprised that I didn't miss anything at all.

Afterwards, I was interested in continuing to play with the save for a bit, so I added things back here and there, a few essential mods and basic CC (like a default skin, a freckled skin and default eyes, but not hair and clothing and such).
